Brush-off objection

How to respond to “Just send me some information”

What it usually means

Usually a polite way to end the call. Occasionally a real request from someone who prefers to read first.

The approach

Agree, but ask a question so that what you send is relevant, and set up a time to discuss it.

What to say

1Happy to. So I send something useful rather than a generic brochure, what's most relevant to you: X, Y or Z?
2Sure. What would you need to see in it to decide whether a conversation makes sense?
3Will do. If it looks relevant, would Thursday be a good day for a 15-minute call to go through any questions?

Adapt the words so they sound like you. Then say them out loud a few times before your next call.

What to avoid

  • Sending a long brochure and waiting
  • Following up with 'Did you get my email?'
